How to Perform Media Calibration for Zebra ZT231 Printer
After changing the labels for an IFS printer, a quick media calibration is recommended.
To auto-calibrate your Zebra ZT-231 printer, follow these steps:
1) Load Media: Ensure that the media and ribbon are properly loaded into the printer.
2) Access the Menu: On the printer’s control screen, select WIZARDS then PRINT and then START PRINT.
3) Select PRINT TYPE. Direct Thermal for no ribbon, Thermal Transfer for using a ribbon. Select CHECK MARK after making selection.
4) Select MEDIA TYPE: We use either MARK or GAP NOTCH. On the backside of the label, check to see if there are black lines,
if there are black lines select MARK, if there are no black lines select GAP/NOTCH and select the CHECK MARK.
5) For label width screen, select the CHECK MARK without making any changes.
6) For the media handling, select TEAR OFF then select the CHECK MARK.
7) Follow the onscreen instructions to load the media into the printer and only adjust the sensor if you're using a different type of media.
Select the CHECK MARK once the media is loaded.
8) The printer will AUTO-CALIBRATE.
9) Select TEST PRINT to verify media is loaded correctly
10) Select the X to skip the tear off adjustment.
11) Do not adjust the PRINT QUALITY, IFS jobs set this when printing.
