Procedure: The steps provided will guide you through cleaning up disk space on your Windows PC, helping you reclaim valuable storage and improve system performance.
Intended User: These instructions are intended for non-technical users with basic computer skills who wish to free up disk space and enhance their computer's performance.
Purpose: Over time, your computer accumulates temporary files and unnecessary data, consuming valuable disk space and slowing down your system. Cleaning up disk space frees storage and helps your computer run faster and more efficiently.
Instructions:
Note: You may need to launch Admin by Request.
Step 1
Open File Explorer by holding the Windows KeyW + E.
Step 2
- Right-click on the C: drive (or the drive where Windows is installed)
- Select Properties.
Step 3
Click on the Disk Cleanup button
Step 4
Select the files you want to delete.
Note: Scroll down to view more options.
Note: Consider selecting Recycle Bin as part of your Disk Cleanup.
Step 5
Click Clean up system files

Click OK
Step 7
Click Delete Files to confirm.
