Saving a user’s OneDrive
Work Instruction
Step 1
Active Administrative Roles in Exchange and SharePoint.
Step 2
Go to admin.microsoft.com
Step 3
Navigate to users, Select User
Step 4
Select the user’s OneDrive tab
If the user has data in their OneDrive, it should look something like this:

Select “Creak Link to Files”
Step 6
Select “Creak Link to Files”
After their Office 365 license is removed, this link has 30 days of access to the user’s OneDrive.
Step 7
Right click their link and choose “Open link in incognito window”
Step 8
Select New and choose Folder. Create a folder using the following naming convention “USERNAME_DATE_OFFBOARDED”
Step 9
Move all of the user’s files and folders into the newly created “USERNAME_DATE_OFFBOARDED”
Step 10
Click Share and enter the manager’s email address
Paste this in as the message:
This link proves you access to the OneDrive of OFFBOARDNAME for the next 30 days. It is only valid for the next 30 days. After that, the data is gone forever. We will not be able to retrieve it for you after 30 days from now.
We recommend copying what you need (if not the entire folder) to your OneDrive.
